Wooden dowel, 2 pcs

Wooden dowel for closing the hole after tapping.

Length: 6.5 cm
Diameter: 12 mm

Weight: 5 grams

Once tapping is finished, a wooden dowel is knocked into the hole. It is knocked in as far as possible and, in any case, far enough that the end of the dowel is flush with the bark. The bark will then heal the tree over the course of a couple of years. Dowels that cannot be knocked all the way in are sawn off so that the cut is flush with the trunk. Note: Opinions are divided as to whether the use of a dowel is optimal for the tree. Certain studies indicate that this can promote fungal attack. Without a dowel, however, the tree will undoubtedly bleed quite a lot before it heals itself. It is therefore up to you whether you wish to use dowels or not.
