How to work out which size of rubber ring fits your jars
The measurements given are the outer and inner diameters of the rings.
Fewer and fewer sizes of these rubber rings are made these days. We stock all the sizes we have managed to find, so you may sometimes have to compromise on size.
For rubber rings for old preserving jars where the ring sits on top of the jar, such as the old Kastrup preserving jars or similar, the most important thing is to achieve as much contact surface as possible between jar, ring and lid.
For rings for clip-top jars, a ring with a smaller inner diameter will in most cases fit the lid, as the rings can stretch by several millimetres.
If you find it hard to visualise the ring sizes or to measure on top of a jar, it can help to draw circles on a sheet of paper for each option based on the ring measurements, then turn one of the jars you need a ring for upside down and hold it over the circles you have drawn to find the size of rubber ring that fits best.
Approved for food contact.
Packed with 10 rings per pack.
Thickness: 1.3 mm
